When Life Takes Its Place

By Arden Suvalle

When life takes its place

Where will I be found

When the moon shines its face

Will you all be around

Old and grown and impish pure

The future brings a glowing lure

The daylight blue finally knocks at our door

We’ve been waiting here during the war

Anxious ridden emotions bursts

Have we yet experienced the worst

I’m too old now

Yet my childhood was taken

So I know not how

For I am mistaken

When life begins itself again

Who shall it seek first

The warrior? The weak? The lonesome friend?

The joyous? The melancholic? The cursed?

This life has broken us down before

This life is washing away at shore

When life takes its place

A new storm brews that we will face
